Sioux Empire Paddlers Big Sioux River Circuit
Sioux Empire Paddlers want to help you explore more parts of the Big Sioux River. The Big Sioux River stretches 419 miles from Roberts County to Sioux City, Iowa. 419 miles is a lot to cover so we decided to make a Big Sioux Circuit to cover from Flandreau, SD to Akron, IA in 2021. If this circuit does well we hope to 2022 can get us from Watertown, SD to Sioux City, IA.
The Big Sioux Circuit wont be a bunch of overnights or racing. We will do day trip sections throughout the summer as a group. We will help each other shuttle and explore new sections of The Big Sioux. We hope this circuit can open up more river to paddlers that aren’t familiar with certain stretches.
