EVENT COORDINATORS

To help our club succeed with getting the community on the water we are offering Event Coordinator position for Paddlers that want to share their experiences. Event coordinators must be approved by our board of directors. Here is some information about being an Event Coordinator.


Sioux Empire Paddlers Event Coordinator (SEC)

Duties

Plan and host minimum 5 club events in the calendar year

Coordinate with board members on club event description, date, and location

Forward pictures of completed club event to board or SEP Members Only Facebook Page

Making Facebook Event on SEP Private Page within the 48 hour time limit (board member can assist)

Coordinate shuttle with club event attendees if applicable

Must be current on club membership dues

SEC can be SEP Board Members

Completes Minimum Five Club Events

Coordinator Rules and Regulations

· Must be paddling/river related

· Must have minimum of three SEP members (including event host) show up to club event

· Overnight trips will count as many days on the water (one night counts as two club event credits, two nights counts as three club event credits and so on)

· Must be posted as Facebook Event on SEP Private Facebook Page within 48 hours of event to count as a club event credit

· Kayak classes and tours with Sioux Falls School District excluded as counting as club events

· Club events must be open to all SEP paid members

· Club events could consist of a paddle on river, stream, creek, pond, slough, river, overnights, cleanups, or destination trips

· Two or more club events cannot overlap in times unless one of the events is an overnight or destination trip (over 40 miles away)

· Take at least one photo of the club event to show participants and location (photos cant contain anyone not wearing a lifejacket on the water)

· SEC’s can co-host club events but they will need to split the available club event credits

· Education course offered to all SEP Members will count as a club event credit

· Only 0%-20% of SEC’s club events can be open to public; 80%-100% must be SEP club members only

· If club event is canceled because not enough people showed up, flow too high (flooding) or weather it does not count as a club event credit and must be rescheduled to count

· If a club event needs a monetary budget the budget will need to be approved by the SEP Board
